BABOCHKA Company opened a monobrand Brioni boutique in St. Petersburg in 2010. Before that Brioni brand was represented in St. Petersburg in the shop in shop format since 2007 only.
The full assortment of men’s and women’s collections, Brioni shoes, perfumes and stylish bags are presented on three floors of a historical building of the XIX century in Nevsky avenue. Italian masters, offering the BABOCHKA clients traditional in Europe additional service of sewing made-to-measure Brioni clothes, come here in spring and autumn. The total area of the premises is more than 200 square meters.
The boutique was designed by Italian architects Ignazio Galante and Niccolo Menichini of Studio Galante – Menichini. Brioni opened a boutique in Tokyo and a lounge in Vienna designed by them practically at the same time with the St. Petersburg boutique. However Vienna and Tokyo premises are decorated in the style of luxurious Italian salons of the 1930s and in St. Petersburg the architects did without the traditional for Brioni wood, marble and mannequins – only copper, burnt leather and high tech materials.
Rei Kawakubo has pictured a space of the world of COMME DES GARÇONS as a space where all forms of expression, values and thoughts of the company could be exposed. Different objects of furniture took their place in a white half rounded elevation of five concrete walls with different oval holes.

Big shop windows of the ground floor allow to look at the boutique interiors and assess the presented collections from the street. The first floor is assigned to individual servicing of the clients. One can see here the full selection of fabrics, which Ermenegildo Zegna offers for suits, shirts and neckties. Italian masters, who come here as a part of su misura service – made-to-measure clothes, take clients’ measurements here as well.
The boutique in St. Petersburg was designed by Milanese studio of brothers Gianmaria and Roberto Beretta (Studio Architettura Beretta Associati). Roberto Beretta had been the art director of B&B, Stilnovo and Artemide in the past. The Beretta brothers have been working with Zegna for more than 40 years. There are boutiques in Hong Kong, Singapore, Ulan Bator among the projects of the last years.

Over its 40-year history, its renowned love of bold colour, print and detail have attracted a devoted global following and now, under the leadership of creative director Niall Sloan, these codes are given a distinctly contemporary twist.
Inspired by the Maison’s DNA, a refined and grandiose atmosphere pervades the spaces, reflecting the highest level of FENDI sophistication, obsession for details and the overall history of the luxury House. The store presents all the Women’s Collections.
The entrance and the right side of the boutique are dedicated to Women’s leathergoods and accessories, displayed on champagne coloured metal shelves with gold textured fabric highlights against off white handmade 3D plaster wall.
Vertical niches and counters exhibit accessories, such as eyewear and textiles. Wood flooring alternates to handmade carpets in different tones of blush pink and lilac.
The left side of the boutique, divided from the entrance by a portal in Travertine and Fior di Pesco marble, shows a special pattern with rain effect applied on the window, creating a see-trough effect, and presents a suspended display dedicated to the shoes. This area gives a preview of the Women’s Ready-to-Wear and Fur Collections, displayed in the inner area of the store. The exclusive furniture pieces in the last space include a Twist console by Thierry Lemaire, FENDI Casa armchairs, a sofa and low tables from Cristina Celestino – realized in collaboration with FENDI for THE HAPPY ROOM at Design Miami 2016 –, that all add a touch of colour whilst reflecting the sophistication of the overall space.
True to the spirit of the Maison, in constant balance between tradition and innovation, FENDI’s new boutique in St. Petersburg represents a harmonious dialogue between the brand’s Roman heritage and the modernity of avant-garde design and art.
